Midwestern Roots 2012: Family History and Genealogy conference is presented by the Indiana Historical Society, July 20 and 21, 2012, in Indianapolis. The two-day conference includes more than 30 sessions with many focused on the technologies that are changing the way you research your family history and the Family History Market and Book Fair.

A wide range of nationally known speakers will be there to help you continue on your journey to find your family story. We are excited to bring to you Dick Eastman, Shamele Jordon, J. Mark Lowe, Thomas MacEntee, Daniel S. Poffenberger, Juliana Smith, Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak, D. Joshua Taylor, Patricia Van Skaik, Curt B. Witcher and more.

Pre-conference activities on July 19 will include a workshop for genealogical librarians and volunteers, computer labs, writing workshops, bus tours and other research opportunities in Indiana’s capital city. If you’ve ever wondered what it was like to work on Who Do You Think You Are?, you can find out at the day’s closing program, Adventures Behind the Scenes.

If you attend only one conference in 2012, this is the one. Whether you are a beginning researcher or an experienced genealogist, there will be something for you at Midwestern Roots 2012!
