History should not be viewed – it should be experienced. You can help people make a real connection with the past by volunteering at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. From interacting with our guests to working with our historic collections, IHS has a volunteer opportunity that’s right for you.
Immediate volunteer needs
The Indiana Historical Society is recruiting volunteers for National History Day in Indiana district and state contests. National History Day is a yearlong educational program dedicated to enhancing history education in elementary and secondary schools. Students in grades four through 12 will create exhibits, original performances, documentaries, websites and papers based upon the 2016 competition theme Exploration, Encounter, Exchange in History. Volunteers are needed in various locations on various dates to assist participants and contest staff.
