Graduate and undergraduate internships
The Indiana Historical Society may have unpaid internship opportunities in the following departments:
- Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Marketing and Publications
- Development and Membership
- Library and Archives
- Education and Exhibitions
IHS will consider students from a variety of disciplines if the potential internship is deemed mutually beneficial.
From time to time, IHS seeks applications for internship offerings via postings at colleges and universities, on listservs and on its Web site. If no internships are posted at this time, students and recent graduates are welcome to contact IHS about the possibility of an internship by providing the following:
- a cover letter that explains why you are interested in an internship at the Indiana Historical Society, what you expect to gain from your internship, and your school’s requirements
- your resume, and the names, addresses and phone numbers of two references
Please send these items by e-mail to Human Resources, Indiana Historical Society at firstname.lastname@example.org
Your materials will be reviewed and passed along to the appropriate department. Please note that an internship may not always be possible. If this is a possibility, we'll contact you and arrange for an interview. IHS reserves the right to decline internship candidates. The staff member responsible for the intern’s supervision will be responsible for completing any paperwork required by the intern’s school.
