History Day Contests
History Day students show off their work to volunteer judges and the public at district, state and national competitions. Judges use evaluation sheets as a rubric to compare student projects and determine which finalists become eligible for the next level of competition.
Students enter projects into the first level of official NHD competition at regional contests around the state. Finalists from each contest are invited to compete at the NHDI State Contest, where the top winners in the Junior and Senior divisions (grades six through 12) become eligible to compete at The Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest in College Park, Md., in June.
Sign up to judge for an NHDI contest here! Teachers who judge for NHDI contests will be eligible for PGP credit from the Indiana Historical Society.
The entry fee for participating in NHD Indiana contests is $10 per student. Click here for more details on payments.
Registration is online and should be started by the teacher or parent sponsor. All times are Eastern Time.
