At Your Location Programs
We'll bring history right to your door with these classroom enrichment programs for students. Available all year, each 60-minute program meets Indiana academic standards for the social studies. Programs are recommended for a maximum of 50 students per session.

Famous HoosiersLearn about diverse and notable people with ties to Indiana and play an exciting round of “Famous Hoosiers Bingo.” |

Madam C.J. WalkerDiscuss the life of this famous black entrepreneur and participate in a team activity where students design their own hair-care product. |

Indiana Statehood and ConstitutionStudents will create their own state constitution and bill of rights in this program introducing the history of the beginning of our state. |

Civil Rights in IndianaExamine the civil rights movement in America and specifically Indiana. Student teams participate in a mock discrimination court case complete with a judge and jury. |

Indiana and the Civil WarInvestigate key events in the Civil War, with an emphasis on Indiana’s troop contributions, and study letters from Hoosier soldiers. |

Communication in World War IITake a close look at two Hoosier journalists, reporter Ernie Pyle and photographer John Bushemi, while probing the broader context of the war. Students participate in a letter-writing activity and discuss censorship during the war. |
Programs are recommended for students in grades four through 12, with the exception of Indiana Statehood and Constitution, which is recommended for students in grades four through six. Fees are $75 per session, including materials, plus a mileage charge of 50 cents per mile, round trip. Each Indiana Junior Historical Society History Club receives one free At Your Location Student Program per semester.
