Lesson Plan: Word Unscrambler!

Rationale: Building students' vocabulary by unscrambling words used throughout this website and constructing sentences to reflect an accurate understanding of their meaning.

Materials: Dictionaries, pencils, papers, and the word chart below.

Timeframe: One to two hours

Method:

1. Print this page.

2. Divide into small groups; how fast can your group unscramble all these words?

3. When all words are unscrambled, construct three meaningful sentences about immigration using at least ONE word from EACH column. Use each word only once. You can find definitions for most of these words in the Glossary.

4. Share your sentences with the other groups!

5. Build your own "unscrambler" !
