Research Visits

Access to the William H. Smith Memorial Library at the History Center is free, and no appointment is necessary to use the collections. The library is open to the public 10 a.m to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Our skilled librarians and archivists are happy to assist both the novice and professional researcher.

Researchers can bring laptop computers and notes. First-time visitors to the library will be asked to complete a registration card, and a photo ID is required to use library materials. All collections must be used on site and do not circulate.

Before visiting the library, feel free to search our collections using our various research tools, listed below, to see what materials we hold on your topic.
