Located inside the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, the William H. Smith Memorial Library houses an abundance of unique resources. The Library is open 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The IHS Collections and Library both preserve and make accessible one of the largest archival repositories of manuscript, printed and visual materials on the history of Indiana and the Old Northwest, including more than:

  • 57,000 digital images online representing 52 collections
  • 5,400 processed manuscript collections
  • 1,550 cataloged maps
  • 800 broadsides
  • 3,500 pieces of sheet music
  • 1.7 million photographs in 610 visual collections
  • 45,000 cataloged printed items
  • 3,300 artifacts
  • 100 paintings
