NOTES:
James F. Reed (fl. 1893-1916) was a public school teacher and trustee of VanBuren Township in Shelby County, Indiana. He was admitted to the bar in 1893. Reed moved to Greenfield (Hancock Co.) around 1896 and began a law practice in the town. He married Anna Pope; they had at least one daughter, Nell.
Reed was active in politics. He was county chairman of the Republican Party in 1910, but joined the Progressive Party two years later and ran for judge on that ticket.
