Betty Ann Burch (b. ca 1924) lived in East Chicago, Indiana during the 1940s. In 1940-1942 she attended Roosevelt High School, where she was a girl counselor, attended a Latin conference, and was elected to the National Honor Society. After receiving some training at Purdue University, she worked from 1942 to 1950 as a mechanical draughtsman at Edward Valve and Manufacturing Company in East Chicago. At times she was the only woman drafter, and she struck a blow or two for equal pay for women workers.

This collection, filling four folders, contains programs, notices, and other papers dated 1940-1949. It is arranged chronologically.
The collection, along with material in M 652, Box 1, Folders 17-18, gives incidents in the life of Betty Ann Burch through the 1940s.
In Folders 1-2 are papers from Burch's years (1940-1942) at Roosevelt High School in East Chicago. Included are material from a Latin conference, a student election, and a basketball tournament, as well as invitations for class day and graduation in 1942. A Roosevelt pin is stored in Artifacts. Material in Folders 3-4 includes wedding invitations and papers from Edward Valve and Manufacturing Co.
