Lindsay Post #11, Department of Indiana, Grand Army of the Republic, was organized in 1870 in Spencer County, possibly in Newtonville. The post had a total of twenty-eight members. Its records run through 1873.
This collection, containing three folders and one oversize folder, contains records of GAR Lindsay Post #11, from 1870 through 1873.
In Folder 1 are a tintype of an unidentified Civil War veteran, and items laid in the company roll book, mainly orders to pay.
Folder 2 contains a roll book for 1870-1873, with different sections for receipts, accounts of individual members, and disbursements.
In Folder 3 (OM 344) is an 1871 muster roll of the post, showing the military history of each of the twenty-eight members.
