SCOPE AND CONTENT

This collection contains two letters by female members of the Hardin family, dated 1886 and 1896. In a letter dated 30 December 1886, addressed to Mrs. Nancy Hardin, "Dear Mother and Sisters," a [daughter] announces the death of her four-week-old baby, Lillie Maye. In a letter dated 30 June 1896, from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Lizzie Hardin tells her sister, Mrs. Bettie Stanton, about the death of their mother.
