James A. Hamilton (fl. 1894-1902) was a dentist. In 1894 he was practicing in Cambridge City, Wayne County, Indiana. By 1898 he had moved to Indianapolis, where the 1898 directory lists his office at 37 1/2 East Washington Street and his residence at 1530 Broadway. The 1899 directory lists his office at the northeast corner of Meridian and Ohio Streets (where he also received mail in 1900), and his residence at 505 North Capitol Avenue. He does not appear in later directories.
This collection contains the dental ledger of Dr. James A. Hamilton for the years 1894-1902. The ledger is one specially made for dentists by S. S. White Dental Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia. Each page bears the record of two patients; for each there is a diagram of the patient's teeth, with dental work pencilled in, and a record of dates of treatment. The volume is indexed.
