BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Gordon W. Marshall enlisted at New Castle in November 1917. He served as a clerk. He was promoted to corporal in February 1919.


SCOPE AND CONTENT

  This collection consists of one item, the paybook of Corporal Marshall for one week in 1919. It shows that his pay as a private was $33 a month; as corporal his pay was $40.80, with $15 sent home and $6.50 deducted for insurance.
