Heinrich Bieberich (ca 1818-after 1894), son of Johann Bieberich and Margaretha Jung, was born in Germany. He performed the required service in the Bavarian army and was discharged in 1841. Two years later Johann and Margaretha Bieberich and their entire family (four under-age children, two grown sons) embarked from France, landed in New York, and went to Adams County in northeastern Indiana, where Margaretha's sister and her husband had previously settled.
In 1846 Heinrich Bieberich married Sophia Scheumann. Living in Preble Township, they had nine children. A deed shows that Heinrich Bieberich was alive in 1894, Sophia having died sometime after 1886.
This collection, filling three folders, contains a Bavarian army discharge, a small notebook, and several deeds. It is arranged chronologically.
Folder 1 contains genealogical material prepared by a member of the family.
In Folder 2 are a Bavarian army discharge (conscription class of 1818) for Heinrich Bieberich, and a small notebook with the birth and death dates of his children. Both these items are in German script.
In Folder 3 are deeds concerning three generations of the Bieberich family. By 1904 the family name has been Anglicized to Beebrick, but even in his last years Heinrich still signed his name in German script.
