SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection contains a 15 page, typewritten paper written by Evelyn Forsyth for the Portfolio Club around 1956. The Porfolio Club was founded in 1890 in Indianapolis to bring together various art interests and to promote a general appreciation of art.

The paper concerns Cedar Farm and the surrounding area. The farm was built by Jacob Kintner in Harrison County, Indiana near Brandenburg, Kentucky. It was owned by members of the Kintner family until 1980. William and Alice Forsyth painted at Cedar Farm in 1897 and 1898, and were married during their first stay there.
