The North Baltimore Bottle Company moved its operation from Albany, Indiana, to Terre Haute in 1900 and began operations in January, 1901. The company produced glass bottles for beverages and other food products. A. L. Pfau served as president and treasurer. In 1912, the North Baltimore Bottle Company employed 650 men and had a payroll of $500,000. The company continued operations into the 1930s.

The collection contains the North Baltimore Bottle Company's financial records, 1895-1931. Among the items are shipping orders, disbursement files, and contracts with equipment suppliers and customers. There are also wages and payroll records, price lists, brewery orders and related subjects, shipping information and records, and tax lists including assessment lists and tax return information. In addition, there is correspondence between North Baltimore Bottle Company and the Schlitz Brewing Company of Milwaukee and Terre Haute regarding bottle orders, specifications, and related matters, 1920 and 1928-1930. Also included are stock certificates and receipts and blue prints for bottle factory equipment. The records also contain tax return information for O'Neil Bottle Machine Company, Root Glass, and Turner Brothers Company, all of Terre Haute, 1905-1918.
