NOTES:
Jane Stout Fribley graduated from Indiana University in 1938. She has been active in many organizations, especially in the church and in the women's movement. She has served as the National Secretary and as State Legislative Citizen Action Chair for Church Women United, as President of the Indiana Council of Churches, and as State Coordinator of the Religious Committee for the ERA. In addition she is a member of the League of Women Voters, the Women's Political Caucus and has served on the Indiana Civil Rights Commission.
This collection contains papers related to the various organizations Ms. Fribley has been active in, especially those concerned with the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment. Included are papers from Hoosiers for the Equal Rights Amendment/ERA Indiana, ERA America, and the local and national branches of the Religious Committee for the ERA. These papers are for the years 1975-1979 only.
Also included is correspondence with government officials on women's issues, newsletters and information collected by Fribley about these issues, and texts of speeches prepared by her. There are also two folders of miscellaneous pamphlets and newsletters and one of newspaper clippings.
