The name C. McGrady is associated with this scrapbook, and the date "Nov 23 09" appears inside the front cover. The Indianapolis city directories for 1909-1911 show one McGrady family in the city. They ran a wrapping business at 21 West Washington Street in 1909-1910. They lived at 1722 Bellefontain Street in 1909 and at 410 East Vermont Street in 1910-1911. Mary McGrady, "widow of Charles," appears in 1909 and 1910; Charles M. McGrady, clerk, appears for the first time in 1911, and may have been the person who compiled the scrapbook.
This collection, filling one manuscript box, contains a thick scrapbook of Indianapolis theatrical clippings from about 1910 (Folder 1). There are reviews of performances at English's, Shubert's Murat, and other theaters, and personal notices about various actors who visited the city. There is also a review of a choral performance conducted by Sir Edward Elgar. Folders 2-5 contain items laid in the back of the scrapbook: partial scripts including "Cinderella of the Movies" and two acts of "Apartment No. 13" by Francis Mellen.
