NOTES:
Joann Walters (born ca. 1941) grew up in Orange County, Indiana, and graduated from West Valley High School in 1959. She moved to Indianapolis around 1975, and kept up a considerable correspondence with relatives and friends.
This collection, filling one small manuscript box, contains correspondence dated 1972-1993. The letters are all addressed to Joann Walters, and are arranged by correspondent. The correspondents vary widely, and taken as a whole, the collection gives an insight, unusual in a generation when most people do not write letters, into some of the problems faced by women in the last quarter of the twentieth century.
