SCOPE AND CONTENT

  This collection contains copies of Baxter Family Chronicles, beginning with Volume 1 Number 1 in April 1989 and ending with August 1992. Subsequent issues will be added. The Chronicle, published occasionally by the donor, Hugh W. Baxter of Park Ridge, Illinois, contains historical and biographical articles about members of the Baxter family, and also obituaries, marriage and birth announcements, and other family news. It is largely concerned with the family of Woolsey Baxter (1802-1880) and Elizabeth Custis, but also mentions other branches of the family.
