A man, likely a farmer with the initials S. G. or L. G., writes to all his friends “in the West” (Indiana).

Information in collection
The collection consists of one letter written by S. G. or L. G. to his friends in the west. The letter writer talks about some of his neighbors and relatives and their health, husking corn, apples, sheep, horses, and the presidential election. He mentions President Abraham Lincoln and the election results in the Huser [Hoosier] state, and calls himself a “peace man.” S. G. also states Elisha Ames hired a substitute for $650.
