Cecil Beeson (1905–94), the son of William H. and Jennie Jenks Beeson, moved to Hartford City, Indiana, in 1911. During the 1970s, Beeson was active in the revival and the establishment of the Blackford County Historical Society and a historical museum in Hartford City, respectively.
Sources: SC 2683 Collection guide
This collection consists of an original silent black-and-white 16mm film and 2 duplicate VHS copies, one master and one user copy.
The photographer and location of this film are unknown. The images appear to be school children, elementary to high school, coming out the front doors and posing for the camera on the steps of their school. There are a few seconds of various people walking down a street in town and a seven-piece musical band. Due to the fact that Cecil Beeson collected items relating to Blackford County, Indiana, it may be assumed that the location is in that county.
