BIOGRAPHiCAL SKETCH

Georgia Jean Giddings was born in Indianapolis, Indiana around 1913 and graduated from Shortridge High School 1930.  In April 1931 she began working in the office of the Indianapolis Power and Light Company.  From 1941–1943 Miss Giddings worked in the Physical Examination Room at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The diaries span the years 1928–1943 and describe in detail Giddings daily activities as a student at Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, life at home and activities with family and friends. In addition, her diaries from 1941–1943 describe her work in the physical examination room at Fort Benjamin Harrison including her tasks and meeting and dating soldiers.  There also are several letters to Giddings from a Corporal Harold Feuters who was stationed at Fort Harrison Hospital, April–May, 1941 and a duty roster from February 17, 1942.
