The W. Brooks and Wanda Y. Fortune History Lab provides a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes and demystify the technical aspects of conservation and paper restoration as well as explore how to “do” history.
Trained facilitators demonstrate how original documents and photographs are restored and preserved and lead guests in exciting activities. Learn how to do what conservators do by trying out one of our techniques used to safely mend fragile paper. You’ll work on actual envelopes that have been deaccessioned from the IHS collection.
