The massive circular clock face—perhaps a reminder of the importance of time in railroad operations—dominates the east facade of the terminal. Interestingly, this clock, which remains in use today, is not powered by an electric motor. Instead its hands are moved by weights, just like an old-fashioned grandfather clock. (Jeffrey T. Darbee)
