Teaching the Holocaust provides a unique opportunity to address history, sociology, world cultures, diversity and other complete topics with K12 students. Staff from the Indiana Historical Society and Indianapolis' Bureau of Jewish Education will present sessions on defining the Holocaust, Judaism 101 and the challenges of creating a safe space for difficult conversations in the classroom and beyond.
This workshop is designed to be flexible in order to allow teachers to incorporate the lessons of the Holocaust into their existing curricula and to meet Indiana Academic Standards.
Participants will receive 5 Professional Growth Points (PGPs).
The workshop is free, but registration is required.
