555 Kessler Boulevard West Drive
Take a rare look inside Twin Oaks, the 1941 Colonial Revival home built by Lyman S. Ayres II and his wife, Isabel. Hidden behind the trees at 555 Kessler Boulevard West Drive, Twin Oaks was the residence of philanthropist Ruth Lilly from the late 1980s until her death in 2009.
Starting with the elegant spiral staircase and distinctive muraled entry, explore 17 rooms in the mansion from the grand drawing room to the beauty parlor and visit the meticulously kept English Garden. As a bonus, see the 21 paintings from the Indiana Historical Society collections that adorn the walls of this extraordinary house and Ruth Lilly's Rolls-Royce convertible.
Shop in the pop-up Basile History Market, and enjoy lunch, available purchase from Sassafras Tea Room.
Admission is $20 at the door and $18 in advance.
Free parking and shuttle service are available at Fox Hill Elementary School, 802 Fox Hill Drive (map).
Special Notice: The home is accessible by shuttle service only and does not accommodate wheelchairs. Twin Oaks is not handicap accessible. Strollers are not allowed inside the house.
