Grave Matters Cemetery Walking Tour: Western Indiana
June 1, 2017
Join IHS Membership staff on Thursday, June 1, 2017 for our seventh Annual Grave Matters Cemetery Walking Tour: Western Indiana. This year's exciting day trip will lead participants through cemeteries in Terre Haute and Sullivan.
The trip will begin with Sullivan's Center Ridge Cemetery. This 1850 Rural Cemetery is the final resting place for a U.S. Congressman, a steel guitar country musician who played at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, and Hollywood's “Movie Czar,” the head of its self-censorship system.
Our next stops will be in Terre Haute at Mount Pleasant Cemetery and a three-cemetery cluster: Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Woodlawn Cemetery and Jewish Cemetery.
Indiana cemetery enthusiast Jeannie Regan-Dinius of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources will accompany the group and make presentations throughout the day. Lunch, snacks and transportation via coach will be provided.
Please consider registering early, as space is limited to the first 50 participants. The registration fee is $50 for IHS members and $75 for non-members (membership is included). RSVP by May 22nd to Jennifer Hiatt at (317) 234-2670 or email@example.com.
* All participants are required to ride the bus to participate on the tour. We are unable to provide secondary pickup locations or allow guests to meet along the way and follow the bus.
