Plant Your Own Backyard Garden

Amy Matthews is the founder and farmer of South Circle Farm, a 1.5-acre organic farm in Indianapolis. Matthews will give participants a tour of the farm and offer tips on getting started on their own garden at home. What are the easiest fruits and vegetables to grow at home? What are some common misconceptions about planting a backyard garden? When is the best time to plant your garden? What should be planted with seeds? What are better with starter plants? She can answer these and many other questions for new or veteran gardeners.

Can Your Harvest and Eat Local All Year Long

Suzanne Krowiak is a master food preserver and founder of Indy Food Swappers. She will demonstrate the most common form of canning, the boiling water bath.
