Blog Your Ancestors: Read ’Em, Write ’Em, Find ’Em

Feb. 18, 2012

Day Classrooms, History Center
1 to 3 p.m.

Watch as the mystery of genealogy blogs vanishes before your very eyes. Learn what they are and how to read them to find genealogy research leads. See how easy it is to create a blog in less than five minutes. You'll leave this session with a list of great genealogy blogs and tips on how to best use the information found in them.

Thomas MacEntee is a professional genealogist specializing in the use of technology and social media to improve genealogy research and as a way to connect with others in the family history community. As the creator of GeneaBloggers.com, he has organized and engaged a community of more than 2,000 bloggers, and he writes and lectures on the many ways in which blogs, Facebook and Twitter can be leveraged to add new dimensions to the genealogy experience.

$10; members $8; attend both family history programs on Feb. 18 and pay $15; member $12. Includes parking and admission to the Indiana Experience that day.

This class is eligible for 2 technical LEUs.
