U.S. History teachers, are you prepared for the Indiana Studies elective course? Jump-start your plans with a day of content and pedagogy on Indiana's role during the Civil War and Reconstruction. The Indiana Department of Education will provide information about the new law requiring public high schools to offer Indiana Studies each year. The conference will also feature a keynote from Dr. L. Bao Bui, Department of History, Stephen F. Austin State University, and a tour of our newest exhibit, You Are There 1863: Letter Home From Gettysburg

Other sessions include topics such as Civil War holdings at the Indiana Historical Society, the Y-Press youth media news program and more. 

This free conference is best suited to grades eight through 12 U.S. History teachers. All K through 12 teachers and home educators are welcome. Lunch provided. Substitute teacher pay reimbursement available while funds last. For more information, contact .
