At NHDI Teacher Workshops teachers will learn about the NHD program, create mock exhibit projects in a hands-on activity and hear from veteran teachers and students. Attendees will walk away with a philosophical and practical understanding of the program, knowledge of best practices in running a program, ideas for classroom activities and a program timeline and PGP credits upon conclusion. Sign up for an NHDI Teacher Workshop below:
Scheduled by contacting the NHDI office, a History Day staffer will visit your classroom to introduce the program for you and your students, discuss research or project ideas or work in small groups with your students. Classroom programs are tailored to fit the needs of your classroom and address your particular questions and ideas. To schedule a classroom visit, contact the NHDI office.
NHDI staffers visit local public libraries after school and in the evenings to assist students with research and project needs. Whether students are brainstorming for ideas or putting finishing touches on exhibits, History Day staffers are available to help students track down primary sources, offer tips for improving research strategies or suggestions for improving projects. Library Nights should be scheduled by a teacher through the NHDI office.
