At NHDI Teacher Workshops teachers will learn about the NHD program, create mock exhibit projects in a hands-on activity and hear from veteran teachers and students. Attendees will walk away with a philosophical and practical understanding of the program, knowledge of best practices in running a program, ideas for classroom activities and a program timeline and PGP credits upon conclusion. Future teacher workshops will be posted on this page.
Scheduled by contacting the NHDI office, a History Day staffer will visit your classroom to introduce the program for you and your students, discuss research or project ideas or work in small groups with your students. Classroom programs are tailored to fit the needs of your classroom and address your particular questions and ideas. To schedule a classroom visit, contact the NHDI office.
NHDI staffers visit local public libraries during or after school to assist students with research and project needs. Students attending NHDI Tune-ups can sign up to receive individual consultations, attend mini lessons on various NHD topics and get personalized research assistance from librarians. Tune-ups should be scheduled by a teacher through the NHDI office.
