William Tinsley Family Papers (SC 2369)

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection contains Tinsley family photographs, manuscript and printed materials, and artifacts. The processor arranged these materials into three series.

Series 1 Photographs includes images of Tinsley family relatives, beginning with cased images dating from ca. the 1860s. The images are mostly unidentified, and depict mainly women and children. Two oversized photographs show a football team, one of which is identified as the Shortridge [High School] team of 1902.

Series 2 Manuscript and Printed Material is made up of items that pertain to Dr. Walter B. Tinsley and are related to his activities as a physician and member of the Scottish Rite Masonic order. There is also a composite photograph in Series 1 of his 1913 graduating class at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Series 3 Artifacts contains personal items such as hatpins, a comb, and Scottish Rite and Indiana State Medical Association ephemera.
