Located inside the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, the William Henry Smith Memorial Library houses an abundance of unique resources. The Library is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The IHS Collections and Library both preserve and make accessible one of the largest archival repositories of manuscript, printed and visual materials on the history of Indiana and the Old Northwest, including more than:

  • 37,000 digital images online (33 collections)
  • 5,000 processed manuscript collections
  • 1,100 cataloged maps
  • 600 broadsides
  • 14,000 pieces of sheet music
  • 1.6 million photographs (500 visual collections)
  • 45,000 cataloged printed items (books, pamphlets, etc.)
  • 3,300 artifacts
  • 60 paintings
